MITT ROMNEY – A Convenient Mexican
While recently being interviewed by Univision, Romney stated that he would like to spread the notion around Florida before the GOP primary election that his father was from Mexico, thus he is Mexican. Really Romney, so NOW you have transformed yourself into the Convenient Mexican. In our books you are just a plain old Opportunist. Romney, do you even visit your Mexican relatives that live in Mexico?
It is highly hypocritical that Romney has forgotten the kindness of the Mexican people who gave sanctuary to his Grandfather and his many wives, when they fled the United States due to religious persecution. And now Romney is pushing the theory of self-deportation. Mitt, where is your gratitude and compassionate for undocumented Mexicans, whose ancestors welcome your family with open arms despite of your ancestors’ religious views which were and are beyond social norms.

Romney stated, “I would love to be able to convince people of that [he is Mexican], particularly in the Florida primary,” with a chuckle, during an interview in Miami, which is a heavily Cuban-American controlled area in Florida. Due to the fact that this man has no shame when he just stated in the Iowa that he would veto the DREAM Act and is now promoting the theory of self-deporting.
Please be assured, Latina/os are tuned in to this year’s political process more than ever in the history of this country, and Mr. Romney, you will NOT get the support of the Latina/o people because you do not support what IS IMPORTANT TO US.
Newsflash to Mr. Romney and your handmaiden who is providing you cover in the Florida Cuban community, Marco Rubio, your reactionary positions on the DREAM Act, Comprehensive Immigration Reform and the self-deporting scheme truly exposes your callous disregard for our conservative Hispanic/Latina/o pro-family values. Obviously, Mitt, your extreme nativist reactionary positions on immigration will rip apart mixed-status families, ending up punishing innocent U.S. citizens for loving a person regardless of their particular status.
Unmistakably Sir, your behavior is not reflective of an American of MEXICAN descent nor does it reflect a compassionate heart of Americans of Mexican or Latina/o descent! Mitt, just wait and see how much love you will receive in the Midwest and Southwest states where Americans of Mexican descent and many other Americans are waiting to vote against you!

Latina-led Political Movement Urges Independent and Democratic Latinos to Vote in “Open Primaries”
Phoenix, AZ – Arizona-based National Tequila Party Movement is issuing an action alert to encourage Independent and Democratic Latinos to vote in the numerous state open primary races across the country.
National Tequila Party urges Latina/os to vote for “anyone but Romney” as he embraces xenophobia more than any other Presidential candidate when he decided to align himself with Kris Kobach who works for the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI). IRLI is the legal arm of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), recently listed as a nativist hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. FAIR is part of the John Tanton network. A retired Michigan ophthalmologist, Tanton has white nationalist beliefs and has written that to maintain American culture, “a European-American majority” is required.
Thus, let’s take our real shot for change and vote for “anyone but Romney” in the open primary states.
Beginning by voting in the next Open Primary Election next Saturday, on January 21, 2012 in South Carolina.
The Delegates numbers per state of the Open Republican Primary States are as follows:
Alabama (50)
Arizona (Semi-closed, with primaries open only to unaffiliated or unrepresented voters, except for the Libertarian primary) (57)
Arkansas (36)
Georgia (75)
Hawaii (Open primary for state, local, and congressional races; caucus system for presidential races) (20)
Idaho (32)
Indiana (46)
Massachusetts (All races’ primaries open for “un-enrolled”/unaffiliated voters only) (41)
Michigan (59)
Mississippi (37)
Missouri (53)
South Carolina (50)
Tennessee (58)
Texas (152)
Vermont (17)
Virginia (49)
Wisconsin (42)
Total delegates for our taking in these Open Republican Primaries are a total 874 and it takes 1,212 needed to win.
This means NTP shall influence who is the 2012 GOP Presidential Candidate.

About the National Tequila Party Movement:The National Tequila Party Movement is a female-led political movement. More females vote in Presidential elections than men strong Latina matriarchs are emerging. It is our goal to communicate to females and Latina matriarchs across the nation with regard to the need for compassion towards undocumented immigrants and the need to fix the broken immigration system. The Tequila Party is currently organizing a national tour of concerts, events, dinners and college rallies that will encourage a massive Latino Get Out The Vote and political participation. This movement is a non-partisan movement. We don’t care how people vote, we just want them to get on the early ballot system, become consistent primary and general election voters.

Kris Kobach endorses Mitt Romney, so revealing!!
By Howard Dotson
It was a very disgraceful moment when Gov. Romney stood beside Kris Kobach and accepted his endorsement. Working with FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform); Kobach was the principal author and litigator for the destructive nativist immigration legislation. We have seen this virus of hate spread throughout the nation.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has registered FAIR as a hate group. FAIR willlingly received $ 1.2 million from Neo Nazi funders. Last year, SLPC published a paper, "When Kobach Comes to Town." It underscores the social and economic impact that this nativist legislation has had on communities in Arizona, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Texas.
Gov. Romney's cozy relationship with Kobach and FAIR is very troubling. There should be a clear and strong rebuke of any GOP Presidential candidate associating with purveyors of hate and intolerance. In 2008, Senator McCain did the right thing and declined an endorsement from the controversial figure Rev. John Hagee. The time has come for Gov. Romney to do the same with Kris Kobach and FAIR.

A New Form of Manifest Destiny ~ A Student with no Hope commits Suicide.
By Shirl Mora JamesLead Co-President of the National Tequila Party MovementCivil Rights and Immigration Lawyer
With a heavy heart, I write this article today as the Tears for Joaquin Luna stream down my cheeks. The National Tequila Party mourns for our young brother and sends our deepest condolences to his family. The anger that wells up in my soul is almost unbearable as I ponder why a brilliant eighteen old student, Joaquin Luna, took his own life. This is the most tragic story that I have seen lately in which an aspiring engineer, Joaquin Luna, shot himself because he did not have a piece of paper that would allow him the possibility for a better tomorrow. According to news reports, Joaquin took his life because as an American without U.S. status, i.e., his dreams of a bright tomorrow as an engineer would not be realized.
Joaquin Luna committed suicide because of his status as a Latino-American immigrant without U.S. legal residency. I know that as Americans of the U.S., we are kind-hearted, welcoming, compassionate and accepting people. However, currently in the United States of America, we are living in an abyss of hate against immigrants which was created to promote some ones’ political gains. How quickly, the politicians forget that they too are children of immigrants that come over to the United States unlawfully. Their ancestors came here, killed our Native brothers and sisters, and stole their land and then called their genocide ‘Manifest Destiny’. Today, we have a new form of ‘Manifest Destiny’ and it’s called the denial of the passage of the DREAM ACT.
As I look across this nation, I wondered how this great country could allow the constant bullying of Latino-American students without U.S. statuses which continue to minimize and beat down our Latino-American children. It is time to lay the blame for this tragedy where it belongs. Our U.S. Senators who voted against the passage of the DREAM Act in December 2010, you all have Joaquin Luna’s blood on your hands and you will need to explain to your Maker why you failed this young man. This also includes all the anti-immigrant GOP presidential candidates, you too all, have the blood of Joaquin on your hands. I wonder what Jesus will say to all the anti-immigrant politicians that failed Joaquin. The hate that these so-called Christian politicians spew against Joaquin and others that are similarly-situated is unacceptable and deplorable!
Our promise to Joaquin’s memory, we as Latina/os will not support any politician who did not support Joaquin Luna. Please go and register to VOTE and help the rest of your family and friends to register to VOTE. VOTE to HONOR the memory of Joaquin Luna and to create the Hope for the rest of our Latina/o DREAMERs who need a status adjustment to fulfill their Dreams. As Latinas, as women, as grandmothers, as mothers, as aunts, as sisters, as nieces and as cousins, we stand up today and scream NO MAS!
With great Sympathy, as the lead Co-President and on behalf of the National Tequila Party, we send our prayers and your deepest condolences to Joaquin’s family and friends. We encourage you to reach out to Joaquin’s family and send them a contribution in honor of their son and to help with funeral costs. The contact for the family is Marie Mendoza, she’s Joaquin’s cousin at: telephone number: 956-862-2407. Joaquin’s services are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, they will hold services at Rick Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission, Texas.
