ACT NOW TO PROTECT YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!
Dearest Colleagues:
LB 239 is scheduled for another last ditch effort for passage. We must show up in solidarity and tell our state senators to put LB 239 to rest for good.
We must send a message that we have a Constitutional RIGHT to have open and free elections. Therefore, please meet me at the State Capitol’s information booth on the first floor on Tuesday, March 27th at 5:00 p.m. Then we to go to the gallery of the legislature and show State Senators that we are counting on them to do the right thing and kill LB 239.
I hope to see you all standing alongside of me in solidarity protecting our right to vote for our elders, family and friends!
Please do one of three things immediately:
1. Call your state senator and tell them voter ID is unnecessary, costly and makes it harder for youth, low income, seniors and citizens with disabilities to vote.
2. Come and phone bank at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Union (room to be posted) to phone bank from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday the 26th.
3. Pack the balcony and rotunda of the state capitol starting at 5:30 on Tuesday night during the filibuster. Hold your senators accountable and show them you are watching!
